Kevin Howells' connection to the Motorcycle Industry stretches back to the start of his career selling Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Piaggio & Triumph Motorcycles for a number of years before progressing with a technical engineering apprenticeship. A lifelong two wheel enthusiast, Kevin has raced at Club level Motocross & Enduro for a number of years and still rides frequently.

Kevin has spent time in sales, finance, marketing and advertising however, the majority of his career has been involved in fighting crime with significant success pioneering forensic marking and registration programmes and initiatives within the Motorcycle & Scooter sector, Bicycles, Jet Ski, Marine and the Construction and Agricultural machinery sectors working closely with OEM's, Police, Insurers, Government and Trade Organisations etc. Kevin was instrumental in the launch of the Official MASTER Scheme owned by the MCIA and the Official CESAR Scheme for the construction and agriculture industries in the UK, supported by other Associations including the CEA, AEA, HAE and IPAF. 

Although involved in the Motorcycle Security market from around 1998, Kevin started work with Datatag in 2001 and completed a successful MBO from Mitsui & Yamaha Motor UK in 2007 and has continued to grow the company across all sectors and into other major markets and territories whilst supporting all forms of Motorcycle events, riders and competition sports. Along with his team, he works alongside all UK Police forces as well as Interpol, the NPCC, OPAL (Serious Organised & Acquisitive Crime Dept) NaVCIS, Major Insurance and Finance companies, Security Test houses and leading OEMs providing technology, systems, support, expert advice and specialist training. Kevin is an active Chairman, Vice Chairman, Board Director and a member of numerous groups, committees and organisations including CITS, VCI, IAATI, PWP and the BSIA to name a few. Kevin has been the Chairman of the Motorcycle Crime Reduction Group (MCRG) for a number of years and now Co-Chairs this important Industry led group with Tony Campbell of the MCIA.

This year Kevin celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Datatag and feels proud that over 1 million motorcyclists have used and invested in Datatag to Protect their powered two wheelers.
